7th Bead Soup Blog Party.....Second Reveal of 4/13/2013

SECOND REVEAL GROUP..........

I had been following Lori Anderson and her Bead Soup Party for the past year.  I was involved with other members from Beading Babes and other Blog events and after reading her charming book I started following her PrettyThingsBlog and decided.... " What the heck ", I'll give it a try and sent
a email.  I thoroughly enjoyed her closing line.  " Jewelry that makes people ask, " Where did you get that?"  My sentiments exactly.

After joining the blog and Facebook page we were all patiently awaiting who our partner would be and watched as the 7th Bead Soup Blog Party we then broken into 3 reveals due to the amount of participants that had joined.  AWESOME!  I was excited as well, Genny Smith also joined and she was to be a part of the Reveal 3.  All participants had to be specific as to their preferred jewelry method and of course.....being a bead embroiderer and beadweaver, specifics were required.  My wonderful partner was then assigned.

                                                          Tanya Goodwin

I had made an acquaintance with Tanya in the Beading Babes Projects and saw her post, but then
good ole research was required.  I spent time on her Blog,  http://pixiloo.blogspot.com/ and we had
some good ole emails going back and forth on likes and dislikes.  After contemplating and contemplating and then more contemplating, " What will I put together for Tanya's Bead Soup exchange...... it all fell together in just one night.  One lovely Copper Heart started the entire process.
Hi Catherine,

The soup is gorgeous. Thank you so much!
Goldstone is a favorite of mine and I love those oval goldstone flower beads. The crystals are a perfect match. The pendant is gorgeous and it is going to be fun deciding what to do with it.
Please tell your friend she did a great job with the beaded beads. I love that pattern and the colors are striking. I'm glad you like peacocks. They are a favorite of mine as well. I think it's the colors. :) Have fun playing with it.
Tanya
And then, I recieved my package from Tanya....imagine my surprise when I opened the focal and saw a Peacock and of all things Soutache.
Genny Smith had just finished her first Soutache piece and I had made a promise that I would sit and do my first Soutache this year......As a Bead Embroiderer I should be able to figure this out...Common Catherine, you can do it.   Peacocks!  My entire Bedroom is done in Peacock colors and Peacock feathers.  To me this was a good omen on things to come.  While sitting and designing around the focal Lori,  notified us that Reveal One on 3/30/2013 was a success but reveal two and three would be one week later due to health issues.  And for the first time, we would be posting our photo's on Pinterest which would be reviewed by a host of judges if we so desired.  " Maybe? ". Yeah, kind of..... O.K., Maybe.... we'll see.
All would still take place for the Reveal 2 group on the 13th of April.
Without further adieu...... my first Soutache and Bead Embroidery reveal.  Thank you Tanya for the lovely gathering of just the right focal, beads, gemstone mixes and soutache and clasp.  I hope I did you proud.
The focal was made by Nancy Schindler Round Rabbit Extra and the clasp is by Melinda Orr.

    1. Thank you. I started with a spiral rope then decided it took away from the Soutache. Then went to chaining.

  6. Catherine, that is just gorgeous! I am so glad you tried soutache because wow!! I love how the pendant looks so at home nestled in with the beads and ribbon. (The little dragonfly on the clasp is adorable as well.)
